The FSU 2015 Student Veteran Film Festival screened The Hornet’s Nest, directed by David Salzberg and Christian Tureaud. Starring Carlos Boettcher, Mike Boettcher, and Kalen M. Waite, it offers a photojournalist perspective on postwar trauma. In addition, the Torchlight Center presented its own scholarship (of $25,000) at the festival..

 

I have a direct link to the initiative because my roommate, the current president of FSU's Project Reaching All Wounded Warriors, introduced me to veteran subculture. So, I felt like my promotional duties carried extra purpose, and was honored to represent the cause. This personal connection allowed me to attract similarly-minded individuals.
